Bottle Weighted Lying Chest Press

The floor press with two filled water bottles held by their handles instead of dumbbells; the floor stops each rep when the upper arms touch it.

How to do it

Setup

Lying on the floor, knees bent, feet flat, a filled bottle in each hand held by its handle over the chest.

Steps

  1. Lower the bottles until the backs of the upper arms touch the floor.
  2. Keep the wrists straight under the handles.
  3. Press both bottles back up over the chest.

Common mistakes

Bottles half full: fill them so the load stays steady. Bouncing the arms off the floor: touch lightly, then press. Wrists bending back under the handles: keep them stacked over the elbows.

Breathing

Inhale down, exhale pressing.
