Resistance Band Standing Single-Leg Knee Extension

Leaning on a chair with a band looped behind one knee from a low anchor in front, straighten that knee back against the band; the foot stays on the floor.

How to do it

Setup

Hands on a chair back, a loop band from the chair's leg around the back of one knee, that knee slightly bent, the foot flat.

Steps

  1. Straighten the knee fully, pressing it back against the band.
  2. Squeeze the front of the thigh for a beat.
  3. Let the knee bend forward slowly; switch legs after the set.

Common mistakes

Band slack: step back until it pulls at the start. Leaning the hips back instead of straightening the knee: keep the hips over the feet. Letting the band snap the knee forward: bend it slowly.

Breathing

Exhale straightening, inhale bending.
